First day of preseason medicals for Valencia CF players
A steady stream of Valencia CF players are set to return from their summer break over the coming days, and the first group back reported for duty on Monday. Twelve members of the squad underwent a series of examinations at the Ciudad Deportiva and the IMED hospital in Valencia, to assess their condition ahead of a busy 2019/20 preseason: Jaume Domènech, Ezequiel Garay, Rubén Sobrino, Santi Mina, Jorge Sáenz, Jason, Álvaro Medrán, Salva Ruiz, Fran Villalba, Javi Jiménez, Cristian Rivero and Pascu.
Before the players took aerobic capacity and strength tests, they were given a medical, an evaluation by a physiotherapist of their mobility, strength and movement angles, TMG scans to analyse muscle function, blood tests, and had their weight, size and bodyfat measured.
The same protocol will be used on Tuesday, when Gabriel Paulista, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Kevin Gameiro, Mouctar Diakhaby, Francis Coquelin, Cristiano Piccini, Jasper Cillessen, Jason Murillo, Joaquín Blázquez and Koba Koindredi arrive, and on Wednesday fitness work and tactical training will begin at the Ciudad Deportiva.
July 15th is the day that internationals José Luis Gayà, Daniel Wass, Rodrigo Moreno, Gonçalo Guedes, Kang in Lee, Manu Vallejo and Dani Parejo return, although the latter appeared at the training facilities voluntarily this Monday to work by himself.
Uros Racic's reintroduction will be on July 19th, and on July 24th Carlos Soler will join up with the group. Ferran Torres is currently away with the Spain Under-19s squad in Armenia, and his schedule will be determined by the team's progress in the European Championships.
